They were open, honest and explained everything to me patiently and I chose what to fix immediately and what to put on hold. I didn't know going in for an oil change, I would need work on my brakes and I had to get back to work so they expedited the work--putting more manpower on my car so I could get back to work. My 2002 Jeep Cherokee's starter went out when I was on Rockville pike getting breakfast around 9:30am. Called and had it towed to the closest shop I could find, which happened to be Preferred Auto. I explained to them that I lived in Leesburg, VA and did not have any other transportation back home other than my Jeep. They told me they would do everything they could to have the Jeep fixed by time they closed at 5pm.
I went back into the shop around 4pm and said I would take my chances and wait. They said they would do my starter right now so I can get back on the road and drive home that same day. I waited in the waiting room and chatted with Gary and Todd. At 5pm they pulled the Jeep out of the bay and gave me the keys and I made it home like nothing even happened.

"My car was making a noise near the driver seat area so I scheduled an appointment with Todd at preferred automotive for a diagnostic. The shop only gives morning appointments if you plan to wait. The Mechanic Alex took 2 thorough hours to do the diagnostic. Todd provided me with the updates that Alex provided in a detailed report with pictures for everything that was inspected and checked in my car. I really liked the visuals since you can see what work needed to get done without the uncertainty. Also the report was set up based on urgency of repair which is great. I agreed to repair the following necessary work: battery replacement, engine filter replacement, coolant cap replacement, and the front metal piece near my front tire since it was causing the noise near my driver area. I have been driving my car for the past three days and so far so good. I appreciate the work and detail this shop provides and I recommend it for its level of detail and service."
