He has been in business for 20 plus years and is a very honest individual with competitive prices. I do not often recommend people and theirs services, but everyone that I have sent to Gary has called me and thanked me for the referral. Finding a good automotive guy is almost as hard as finding a good electrician.

I have been taking my cars to Preferred Automotive for a couple of years now. They are EXCELLENT. Gary McKee is an OUTSTANDING invididual who is HONEST and CARING. He will tell you what is wrong with the vehicle, what the alternative are and how much it might cost UPFRONT. His service is also OUTSTANDING. He stands behind his work 100%. I know that I would NEVER think of taking my cars to anyone else. His staff is knowledgeable and friendly and willing to go ABOVE and BEYOND want one would expect of them.
I have had my cars serviced with Preferred Automotive off and on for the past 15 years. One of the things I appreciate most about their service is their honesty and level headedness. When I purchased a new car in 2006 I chose to have service done with the dealership (under the warranty) due to convenience. As the warranty ended and I leared just how much dealerships sock to you, I came back to Preferred. They are reasonable and forthright about what is truely "necessary". I know very little about maintaining cars so I was willing to let others decide for me. What a mistake! I am very happy to be back with Preferred. I feel less pressured. It's like having someone "hold my hand".?

The Preffered Automotive Team is courteous, organized, thorough, and dedicated. Their goal is to serve the customer, so that their car preforms with reliability and safety. I have been going to Preferred since 2000. I have always recieved excellent service, a detailed summary of what has been done on my vehicle and what needs to be done. I have also recieved coupons for various services. I have always been treated fairly and honestly. Prefferred is flexible and provides transportation if needed. I have never been disappointed with anything. They always give an estimate before they do work and they also will prioritize repairs or services if the cost is an issue. Prefferred always makes sure that your car is safe and superiorly maintained for the road. It's actually quite a delight to get my car serviced. I know that my money is in good hands with Preferred Automotive. I expect the best and they supercede my expectations. Quality, respect and honesty is what Preferred Automotive is all about. It has always been a pleasure doing business with them.

Preferred Automotive has been very good to me. I started going there many years ago, in 1997, and have continued to use them because they are honest. You can trust them, and that is very important.
They kept my 1987 Chevy Caprice going for a long time. When it finally stopped running, Gary McKee, one of the owners of Preferred Automotive, did some research and found me available cars in my price range. I appreciated his help because I did not know how to go about getting a different car on my own.
I bought a car on Gary's recommendation, a 2001 Buick Regal, and have been very happy with it. I call it God's car...it's a dream car.
The McKee brothers also are very hospitable. I live about 7 miles from their shop and, when I take my car in for a check-up, I can wait in their shop or they will take me home and come back and pick me up. They have gone beyond in their service.

If you don't take your car to Preferred Automotive first you're dumb. I have used lots of mechanics in the area and I have never met a group with higher integrity, better customer service response, and individual attention and consideration.
I would never take any of my cars anywhere else unless they are under warranty. I have bought 3 cars from them, and they are the best I have ever owned. For our repairs I bring all of my family's cars there, including my 2 sons and 3 daughters, all of whom have young children. Therefore it is very important to me to have good repairs.
I just can't say enough positive things about them. They give me the best work I've ever had done.

Gentlemen, I can't begin to thank you enough! The level of care, concern and service you and your team showed me yesterday was incredible and greatly appreciated!!! Your availability to work on my old minivan on practically no notice, AND willingness to get me to and from the Metro station so I could keep my afternoon appointment is just unheard of in today's world! And not only were the repairs done in the time I was on my appointment -- it wound up costing half what I originally anticipated! You guys at Preferred Automotive are GREAT!!! I have always said that when I am really ill, take me to my dog's vet for truly patient-centered care and clear communication! When my car is ill, cranky, or just needs a bit of clean oil, the car doctors at Preferred Automotive are the ones I turn to. They will get to the bottom of any problem using skill and logic, and they will leave no stones unturned when it comes to finding the right solution at the right price. Their communication with customers is excellent, from telephone updates from Sean in the office as my car is being serviced, to a call 1-2 days later to make sure I am pleased with the work that was performed and that all my questions have been answered. I've been searching my entire life for a reputable auto repair shop. My search is finally over! I was referred to Preferred Automotive by my brother-in-law who called them his "go to guys" when it comes to auto repair. He was so right! I've never felt more at ease driving my car knowing that it was worked on by the best auto mechanics ever. Reliable, honest, extremely qualified, are just a few of the ways I would describe them. We all have heard 'You reap what you sow'. The Law of Karma says your Thoughts, Emotions & deeds come back to you'. You can see this in the success of Preferred Automotive. At Preferred Automotive they don't try to 'sweet talk, while thinking in their mind 'how can I get the max money out of this customer?' They are upfront about what needs to be fixed. 1. In my case, if there is more than 1 or 2 items that needs to be fixed, I'll ask them to prioritize for me to budget - And they oblige. 2. Fact: no wonder they got selected by the Washingtonian Magazine! I think it is about relationships that are win-win. I have been going to them for years! The answer to the question I posed is Yes, there are few and Preferred Auto is one of them!

I have had the pleasure of taking my cars to Preferred Automotive in Rockville for over 10 years. The service is outstanding and the customer service from everybody in the shop is excellent. They always make feel like I'm their only customer by taking their time to listen to me and following up personally. They take into account that I drive at least 90 miles a day (round-trip) from work when they service my cars by proactively taking the time to check EVERYTHING in an effort to make sure I am informed of possible upcoming issues. As long as they are around, I will continue to go to Preferred!

Very helpful, honest and reliable. I would recommend Preferred Auto to anyone. I found them by accident when my car croaked on Rockville Pike during rush hour. The Town truck driver said they were listed as a AAA certified shop. I didn't know what to expect. I was so relieved when I got there and they explained everything in detail and gave me options.
Very positive experience. The prices are competitive and they appear to be way more knowledgeable than the jiffy chains. I will definitely use them for routine maintenance.

Preferred is the best. Not just because they are efficient and friendly but because they are ultra honest.
I took my car in and they told me about a warranty that just expired from the dealership. They told me I should first go back to dealership and see if they would honor that warranty even though it was a couple months old. They did and I saved multiple thousands of dollars. I would have never known about this if it weren't for Preferred Auto. They have earned my business for a lifetime. Since then I have gotten a ton of work done on a couple different cars. Each time it went off without a hitch.
