I have been taking my cars to Preferred for many years and have referred many friends and family alike. The service, integrity, and honesty is top notch. I know nothing about how my car works and need a car technician that I totally trust will give me honest advice and service at a fair price. These guys go over and beyond that. I live in Darnestown and they are not convenient for me but I will not take my cars anywhere else. Neither should you. Call Gary or Mike for all your care care needs.

I've been going to Preferred for over 10 years now. My whole family uses Preferred. Nobody ever wants to pay to have their car fixed, but there's something really great about knowing that you're always going to get a fair shake. Mike, Gary, the whole crew, even the new hires seem to embody the same principles of the founders. Take your car to them, tell them your problems, and let them work their magic.

EXCEPTIONAL!!! I do not know what I would have done without Preferred Automotive over the past 15 years. Our family has owned many "older" cars over the years and Preferred keeps us on the road. Their customer service is stellar, and their pricing is always honest and fair. They also stand 100% behind their work. The staff are professional, friendly and very concerned about providing the customer with the best service and quality of repair. They have a convenient "night drop" service if you need to leave your car after hours. Going above and beyond, they even took the time to instruct my teenagers about basic care maintenance and safety when they started driving. When we needed to buy another used car quickly, they were able to help us out and found an inexpensive car in good condition that my teenage son could drive to school. Several times, when I did not have access to another ride, they have dropped me off at work while my car was being repaired (I work nearby). You simply will not find a better place to have your car repaired. I am a loyal customer for life!

We've been taking our cars here for the past 7 years. They are great at keeping older vehicles running well, but they also won't push extra services on you that won't help extend vehicle life. I've been bringing my new car here as well; they do a better job than the dealer and cost a heck of a lot less.?

It was a bit after 5pm on Friday, September 24, when again my car would not start. This was the second Friday in a row and needless to say, brought on the waterworks. I remembered a co-worker remarking about the great service she receives at Preferred Automotive so I ventured there to seek help. I was going to ask them to tow the car to the shop and then I was going to rent a car to get home (which is 50 miles away). Well, Gary and Mike were still there (Thankfully) and happily came to check out the problem. Within a short period of time they figured out the problem and was able to get the car started and get me on my way home. This not only saved me time and money also, they did so pro bono. I cannot say enough wonderful things about these great guys and their business. They are a true blessing to us all.?

We have been taking our cars to Preferred for years. Will not go anywhere else. Have referred many friends and family members and everyone gets the same amazing service and treatment. I trust them with an indispensible asset, my car, that I know nothing about how it works. I need to trust my mechanic and I do. They are honest, will never do work that is unnecessary and will give you an honest assessment of the state of your car and when repairs and maintenance items MUST be done. Don't take your car anywhere else. I willingly stake my reputation on the referral.?

When my car broke down on Rockville Pike unexpectedly, I was referred to Preferred Automotive from a co-worker at HHS. I was so happy to find them! Shaun came out and helped me get my car to a safe spot to be towed to Preferred Automotive. They fixed my car (replaced two sensors) in a very timely manner, communicated throughout the process, and provided a very fair price. I felt great with my car in their very capable hands, will return in the future, and will eagerly recommend Preferred Automotive to others. The staff (Shaun, Gary, etc.) are extremely friendly and professional.?

Over 25 years I have taken 5 different vehicles to Gary, Mike and colleagues. The longest running was a 1980 VW truck which ran over 400000 miles. The "newest" is a 2002 Saab which has about 160000 miles. The service has been uniformly excellent. More importantly, it has been explained in terms that I can understand. Most importantly, they will do whatever it takes to keep me driving, regardless of the difficulty that it creates for their schedules. My only regret is that I did not take my cars which were under new car warranty to Preferred.?

Preferred Automotive provides superb automotive work and outstanding customer care. I know I can count on the mechanics to take care of my car. Gary, Scott and Sean regularly counsel me on what services are a NOW and what services can wait. I have never walked away feeling suckered or pressured into a service. Once, I brought my car in thinking "Uh Oh" and left with my car the next day with a great big "Phew". I usually get an oil change within 24 hours of calling for an appointment. Preferred Automotive is convenient to the Twinbrook Metro and to the Parklawn Building. Prices are competitive. Quality is outstanding. Honestly, I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.?

Both Fab Electric and The Fabs use Gary the owner of Preferred Automotive to take care of our work and personal cars. Gary services our Volvo, Jeep, Ford truck and Suburban and our work vans. He has been in business for 20 plus years and is a very honest individual with competitive prices. I do not often recommend people and theirs services, but everyone that I have sent to Gary has called me and thanked me for the referral. Finding a good automotive guy is almost as hard as finding a good electrician.

I have been taking my cars to Preferred Automotive for a couple of years now. They are EXCELLENT. Gary McKee is an OUTSTANDING invididual who is HONEST and CARING. He will tell you what is wrong with the vehicle, what the alternative are and how much it might cost UPFRONT. His service is also OUTSTANDING. He stands behind his work 100%. I know that I would NEVER think of taking my cars to anyone else. His staff is knowledgeable and friendly and willing to go ABOVE and BEYOND want one would expect of them.

I have had my cars serviced with Preferred Automotive off and on for the past 15 years. One of the things I appreciate most about their service is their honesty and level headedness. When I purchased a new car in 2006 I chose to have service done with the dealership (under the warranty) due to convenience. As the warranty ended and I leared just how much dealerships sock to you, I came back to Preferred. They are reasonable and forthright about what is truely "necessary". I know very little about maintaining cars so I was willing to let others decide for me. What a mistake! I am very happy to be back with Preferred. I feel less pressured. It's like having someone "hold my hand".?

Preferred Automotive has been very good to me. I started going there many years ago, in 1997, and have continued to use them because they are honest. You can trust them, and that is very important.

They kept my 1987 Chevy Caprice going for a long time. When it finally stopped running, Gary McKee, one of the owners of Preferred Automotive, did some research and found me available cars in my price range. I appreciated his help because I did not know how to go about getting a different car on my own.

I bought a car on Gary's recommendation, a 2001 Buick Regal, and have been very happy with it. I call it God's car...it's a dream car.

The McKee brothers also are very hospitable. I live about 7 miles from their shop and, when I take my car in for a check-up, I can wait in their shop or they will take me home and come back and pick me up. They have gone beyond in their service.

If you don't take your car to Preferred Automotive first you're dumb. I have used lots of mechanics in the area and I have never met a group with higher integrity, better customer service response, and individual attention and consideration.

I would never take any of my cars anywhere else unless they are under warranty. I have bought 3 cars from them, and they are the best I have ever owned. For our repairs I bring all of my family's cars there, including my 2 sons and 3 daughters, all of whom have young children. Therefore it is very important to me to have good repairs.

I just can't say enough positive things about them. They give me the best work I've ever had done.

We all have heard 'You reap what you sow'. The Law of Karma says your Thoughts, Emotions & deeds come back to you'. You can see this in the success of Preferred Automotive. At Preferred Automotive they don't try to 'sweet talk, while thinking in their mind 'how can I get the max money out of this customer?' They are upfront about what needs to be fixed. 1. In my case, if there is more than 1 or 2 items that needs to be fixed, I'll ask them to prioritize for me to budget - And they oblige. 2. I have had the pleasure of taking my cars to Preferred Automotive in Rockville for over 10 years. The service is outstanding and the customer service from everybody in the shop is excellent. They always make feel like I'm their only customer by taking their time to listen to me and following up personally. They take into account that I drive at least 90 miles a day (round-trip) from work when they service my cars by proactively taking the time to check EVERYTHING in an effort to make sure I am informed of possible upcoming issues. Very helpful, honest and reliable. I would recommend Preferred Auto to anyone. I found them by accident when my car croaked on Rockville Pike during rush hour. The Town truck driver said they were listed as a AAA certified shop. I didn't know what to expect. I was so relieved when I got there and they explained everything in detail and gave me options.

I took my car in and they told me about a warranty that just expired from the dealership. They told me I should first go back to dealership and see if they would honor that warranty even though it was a couple months old. They did and I saved multiple thousands of dollars.
